A different way to look out
A town beside a river. A city along the coast. Point your iPhone’s rear camera out of the window and see place names in the view.
As you come in to land, look for the places you know. Seeing home from up here feels a little more personal.
See the app in action
Cannes. Mougins. Valbonne. Watch the names appear in this original recording from a window seat.
Play the recording to see World Below in the air.
Labels depend on location and compass reception. Place coverage varies.
Made for the view
Open the app, point the rear camera towards the landscape, and bring place names into your window view.
The place database is included on your iPhone. No internet connection is needed to look up its names.
Save a photo when a view catches your eye. Your pictures stay in your iPhone’s Photos library.
Before you fly
No app account. No subscription.
Just your iPhone and the view.
Choose a window seat with a clear view. Allow camera and location access, then point your iPhone’s rear camera towards the landscape. You look at the screen while the camera faces out.
The included place database works without an internet connection. Identifying places still depends on usable location and device orientation information. Reception can vary inside an aircraft.
Coverage varies. Place names are estimates based on your location and the direction of the camera, so results depend on location and compass reception. It is for enjoying the view, not navigation.
World Below processes them on your iPhone. It does not send them to the developer or an analytics service. Read the privacy policy for details.
