World Below Privacy
This policy describes World Below for iPhone, version 1.0. The app uses your camera view, location and device orientation to estimate which places lie in the direction you are looking. It processes these inputs on your device and does not send them to the developer or an analytics service.
Camera and location
World Below accesses the rear camera, your location and altitude, and motion and orientation sensors while you use the app. Camera and sensor updates stop when the app goes into the background. The app has no background location feature.
You can control permissions in iPhone Settings. Without camera, location or usable orientation information, identification will be unavailable or limited. The included place database does not require an internet connection.
Photos you save
When you choose to take a still photo and allow photo-library access, World Below saves it to your Photos library. A selected place name may be added to the photo. World Below requests permission to add photos; it does not browse your existing photo library.
The app does not upload saved photos. Your Photos library, sharing choices and any Apple Photos or iCloud synchronization are controlled by your device and Apple settings. You can delete saved images in Photos.
Accounts and diagnostics
World Below has no app account, advertising service or developer analytics service. It writes basic startup timings and milestone names to the device's system log. Those entries do not include camera images, coordinates, headings or place names, and the app does not transmit them to the developer.
Apple separately processes App Store purchases, downloads and any diagnostics you choose to share under Apple's policies and your settings. This policy describes World Below's processing.
This website
The World Below website is hosted by Cloudflare. Visiting it sends technical request information, including your IP address, to Cloudflare so it can serve and protect the site. This website processing is separate from camera and location processing within the app. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its processing practices.
Support and changes
